Anna Eriksson

What is this about: Anna Eriksons art movie. I've seen her movie W before and I thought that these two movies are more related, but it was nice that that they were two totally independet pieces, allthought the style is similar. There really isn't a clear plot, but you can see themes of sexuality, death and motherhood.

Content warnings: Sexual and violent scenes
Best about it: Visuality, themes, nice to experience art without trying to keep on track of plot twists.
How did I felt: Ecstatic. enchanted by the film
Goodness: 4,5/5

Veden Vartija (Memory of water)

Maailma on tomua ja tuhkaa täynnä muttei toivosta tyhjä

Saara Saarela
Writer: Emmi Itäranta, Ilja Rautsi
Starring: Saga Sarkola, Mimosa Willamo, Lauri Tilkanen, Pekka Strang, Minna Haapkylä, Kheba Touray, Lyydia Mörä, Tommi Eronen
What is this about:  An other Finnish dystopian I saw during pretty short period of time (see also: The Last Border ) It's a nice change to see dystopian movies located near me as quite often they're filmed somewhere in a  more exotic locations. Nothern Finland is quite wild and bald but not as much as desserts. In the near future water is limited resourse (as it already is in many counties already) and many are suffering from the lack of. Fascist government and army are guarding citizens. Everything doesn't make 100% sense but overlall the plot and scenery are interesting.

Content warnings: Little violence
Best about it: Good minimalistic plot, little bit of action and nicely stark visuality.
How did I felt: Entertained
Goodness: 4/5
Weirdness: 3/5

The Last Border

It's funny I struggle to find my past and you, to forget it

Year: 1993
Director:
Mika Kaurismäki
Writer: Alexandra Deman, Mika Kaurismäki, Pia Tikka

Starring: Jolyon Baker, Jürgen Prochnow, Fanny Bastien, Kari Väänänen , Matti Pellonpää, Juice Leskinen, Esko Salminen, Mato Valtonen
What is this about: 90' s dystopian movie located in Nothern Finland. Finnish version of Mad Max.

Content warnings: Violence
Best about it: This is hillbillyish home made version on Mad Max, a bit more minimalistic and way more akward wich was etertaining. Dystopian brought little bit closer to the reality I'm living right now in Finland. Characters and visuality were also pleasant. Plot was not mind blowing but that's not something I expect from movies like this anyway.
How did I felt: Heart warming, entertained.
Goodness: 4/5
Weirdness: 3/5
